(The Zombie Walk is back after a two-year break)
(Las Cruces, NM) The Downtown Las Cruces Partnership (DLCP) is happy to say that this year’s Zombie Walk will be bigger and better than ever. The first Zombie Walk since 2019 will be put on by DLCP and the City of Las Cruces. Jennifer L. Garcia Kozlowski, the Executive Director of DLCP, said, “We’re thrilled to bring this event back to our community.” So many people have been waiting for it, and we knew It had to happen in 2022.
On Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 5 to 9 p.m., there will be a Zombie Walk at Plaza de Las Cruces. Prepare your “zombie” costumes and show Las Cruces how to walk like a zombie. There are no costume themes or rules, so anything goes. This year, there is a fee to get into the costume contest. It costs $10 for one person or $15 for up to four people in a group. Check-in time starts at 5 p.m.
Las Cruces Motor Sports will be back as the Grand Marshall of the Zombie Parade. Your favourite music will be played by Dj Black, and Bravo Mic will once again be the emcees. The Mayfield Diversity Dance Team will do the “Thriller” dance, which is a crowd favourite, and HD2 will also be on stage.
“With its carnival midway on the Plaza, stage dancing performances, and a large number of craft sellers, Zombie Walk 2022 appears to be the best event. You don’t want to miss it, according to the event’s coordinator, Russ Smith. The Zombie Parade begins at 7 o’clock and proceeds down Main Street. The contest for the finest costume is overseen by Zia Comics. Best Adult, Best Child, and Best Group costumes will get trophies, gift cards from Zia Comics, a pound of Beck’s “Wake the Dead Zombie Blend” coffee, and bragging rights for 2022.
